For our family Christmas often starts early. As a pastor of children & youth the Christmas season is so full with events that its hard to find family time for things like putting the Christmas tree up. Many Saturdays have events on them for either youth or both. So, this past Saturday we set up our Christmas tree!
I decorated the tree with lights and then screwed it to the floor on the bottom and anchored it to the floor on the top [we do have 2 toddlers!]. As a family we always decorate the tree with ornaments. My job is the untangling of all the ornaments in the boxes & bags their stored in. The children's job is taking each ornament and finding the perfect place for it on the tree. Sharalyn's job is shifting 5 of the 6 ornaments from each of the lower branched and putting them more evenly throughout the tree, lol.
This year before we began the children's part of the event I set up out video camera and pressed record. It recorded the entire 46 minute process, complete with a nice family shot at the end. Then I imported the video to my computer and sped it up to that it was only 2 minutes and 32 seconds. I added a song and a title and now we have our 2007 family decoration video! It was a lot of fun!
We still have one tradition to go as far as the tree goes. Each year our children decorate a start for the tree. We're not quite done that part yet. Perhaps more video to follow.
What family Christmas traditions does your family have?

Coffee Church
Thanks to Pastor Paul, our Pastor of Worship Arts for this one... knowing that I love video and love coffee he sent this my way to take a look. This video made me laugh, and then appropriately, cringe.
